Under 2.5 goals and the Bolton vs Birmingham game

I have made a couple of videos showing how to be successful trading the under 2.5 goals market and today I found a refinement to the strategy which I really quite like. What you do is to put an insurance bet on their being a goal in the first 1o minutes. I placed a bet of 100 euro before the start of the game on the unders with odds of 1.81. It is a bit low really – better to get 1.9 and above, but I went for it anyway. I also placed the insurance bet on the first goal going in, in the first ten minutes. I got odds of 6.2 on that one and I used a stake of 10 euro. You don’t want to put too much on that because it limits the profits on the unders betting.

What do you know but Birmingham put the ball in the back of the net in 4 minutes and the insurance bet pays up 52 Euro. All I did then was to wait for the odds to come down again on the under 2.5 goals and I was able to trade out or scratch the unders bet with odds of 1.78 to end up with my profit on the game of 51.39 euro.That was just before half time.

It can still go bad of course if there had been more goals in the first half. I was able to lock in the profit just before half time. It was good that I did because of Birmingham getting another goal on 51 minutes. It had not helped Bolton’s cause with the goal keeper getting sent off.

I use the excellent BetAngel software to work out these bets and send them in with one click. It is really handy also to be able to have one click greening up too by using the ladder for the market you are working with.

Bolton scored a goal from a penalty and closed the under 2.5 goals market on that game so I went on to look at the other games of the day.

Right now it is 22 minutes and no goals scored in the games Sunderland vs Man City and Liverpool vs West Brom. I greened up after 14 minutes with the Sunderland game. Not so keen that there were some minutes with all of the money at risk due to already losing the 10 on the insurance bet. So I laid off at odds of 1.66 – green at 13.29 less the tenner. 3.29 profit on the game.

Liverpool playing West Brom started with odds of 3.34 no goals as I look now at 28 minutes and the green up would be at 1.57. I suppose that is a thing to watch out for when you are trading these markets on Betfair or Betdaq, that you don’t spread yourself too thin to be able to do a good job of tracking the scorelines. Concentrate on what you are doing!

 

Football Cash Generator and the Netherlands vs Denmark

Using the Football Cash Generator

I have been looking at this game for the Football Cash Generator system and got in a lay bet on the draw at 3.50 and an insurance bet for 10% on the nil nil at odds of 6.8. But as you can see from the picture above the trading on the under 2.5 goals would have worked very nicely. It is hard to know what is going to come from the teams when they actually start playing in the tournament. The Germany vs Australia would have been the right game for the Football Cash Generator with Germany certainly being the favourite.

Back to the Netherlands vs Denmark game, it is half time and the commentators are complaining of a lack lustre, bordering on boring game. Lets see what happens in the second half. We are looking for a goal to be scored by either side.

 

Goal went in from an own goal just after the start of the second half putting Holland up 1 by the one goal. the back odds on the draw around 7 for a minute and settled at back price of 6.8 nicely greened up with a 42.66% profit less the 5% Betfair cost.

 

Not going to watch any more of the game because the vuvuzela things are driving me nuts. The definitely should be banned from the stadia, bloody stupid annoying horn things……

Watching the Argentina vs Nigeria game in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa, and Argentina are leading 1-0. I went with the Football Cash Generator for the technique to use.

I got in with a lay bet on the draw at the start of the game at 4.9. The goal went in from the favourites Argentina at 6 minutes and the odds bumped up to 9.5 and that left it easy to green up and have the profit locked in.

Just goes to show that it is such a good idea to trade and not bet on the game. Since the goal at 6 mins Argentina have looked like scoring a few times but Nigeria have threatens with counter attacks from time to time also. Now injury time over and and Nigeria has lost their chance. Should have been more goals in the game but the Nigerian goalkeeper made some excellent saves.

 

England vs USA with Football Cash Generator

Great start to the game with a goal from the favourites England early in the game. I got 4.40 lay bet on the draw at the start of the game. and after the goal went in the back odds were up to 7.80. Excellent for England and excellent for me. With a 100 on the lay bet and a setting of 25% target for winning. I put on a 10% insurance bet down on the nil nil score. The greened up amount was 40.63 and the only deduction from that will be the 5% to Betfair.

Of course I want England to win the game and it is looking like the lads can do it. But as far as the trading is concerned it is all over. That is until Rob Green the England goalie messes up and lets USA back into the game. There was some swearing happening on this sofa, I can tell you

Mac20Q Podcast 94 featuring Steve Wright

Steve WrightSteve is a professional photographer and does wedding and event photography, he uses a Mac and is a Canon guy. Steve is enjoying the new DSLR cameras that do really good video capture. He has a Canon 7D. Straight away Steve was telling me that in his area things are picking up financially and business is good. I am so pleased so see such a positive outlook after all the doom and gloom that we see too often.

The iPad is a huge help to Steve in his business as he can so easily show photos to clients using the iPad. Since he bought his he can’t put it down. Uses it all the time for business and also for games. We all have to have some fun from time to time.

In my ramble I talk about my efforts to learn some cocoa programming to be able to make Mac and idevice applications. As part of that discussion I mention the use of MacJournal which I have been trying out and liking a lot. Telefonica get a poke for being a pile of rubbish for making me use a Windows machine and Internet Exploder. Then get an extra bad mark for forcing a download of an exe program file. Very bad !!

Apple iPad Worldwide availability

The iPad availability Europe situation is not good as it stands at the middle of April. There was recently an announcement from Apple to say that they were not going to supply iPads to Europe for another month. The release date for the iPad for the UK, Germany, France Spain and some other European countries will not be until the end of May, with a pre-order date of 10th of May.

Apple should at the very least had plans to be able to ramp up production faster if needed and as the problem stands now they should have made sure that European iPad developers could get an iPad because they need the physical device to get the apps ready and working right.

Of course it is not just in Europe the iPad is not getting out the rest of the world either. Apple are bound to look after the most vocal customer base first and there local customers as in U.S. citizens. So much for there being a World Wide market now, when Apple looks after one section of its customers before the rest.

It was heart breaking to see Liverpool give it all last night and in extra time look like they would go through, only for Diego Forlan to spoil their dream. After they got them selves into the driving seat with that second goal they should have done what Inter Milan did to Barcelona the previous night. Inter just locked it down with a six man back line and the rest coming back to help at times too. Hoping now that Barca win the rest of their games in the league to keep first place away from Real Madrid.
