Well done to Chris Pinchen and Ana who between them did a great job of making the PodCamp Barcelona possible. I got to meet some really nice people and learned a few things along the way. Thanks.
Today I will be editing the interviews I did yesterday. I took in my mac mini which is my recording studio machine and recorded interviews with a few of the combatants, I mean attendees….
For myself I thought the politicians had too much time and the sessions they did were as dull as dishwater. But that is politicians for you. I ask myself how can they manage to think such rubbish let alone talk some much crap, apart from the fact that they love the sound of theIr own voices.
Don McAllister was great and I would have liked to have heard from the wine blogger from Minnesota in America, but it was running so late on Saturday due to the hot air from the politicos. There was talk about web 2 technologies also which was of interest. I am not sure though if there is the groundswell yet of ordinary people in Spain with a passion for a topic that will get stuck in and make some new media in the form of blogging and podcasting. Seem that they think it is for the big companies to do like the TV stations and the radio stations in the form of converting the content they already have.
One good bit of information was about some capture software that I am considering, called Screenflow. Still not totally convinced as in using the demo version it has failed to stay working, ie it crashed 4 times while I was working on a farly small file. I was using content I had captured in another program but I was looking at the way it was able to edit the video rather than the capture abilities. It has some neat tricks making zooming in really easy, for example. Not sure about spending $100 on it. Could be better to spend the money on Final Cut Express.
I think I had a great idea this weekend for a new web site called Funiun. Basically I want people to tell me their funny stories. I can ask people do you have a funny un. geddit?? I will produce it as a podcast weekly and allow the viewers of the blog to participate in a Poll. Which story is the funniest. Prizes monthly for the funniest story. If you have a funny-un send me an email to spondicious@me.com with the subject of I GOT A FUNIUN.
