Casino Casino

I was asked to look at a web page which purported to have a system which allowed you to win at the Casino on the Roulette wheel. Nice looking web pag and seemingly with good infomation. The basic idea was to put your money starting with 1 euro on either red or black to win. If you won you would be 1 Euro up. If you lost then you would double the stake and do the exact same again. If you won on the second go you would be 1 Euro up - If you lost you would again double the stake.

All and good until you realise how quickly doubling up can reach a big number  - 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048.   So with 12 losses in a row you could have to place 2048 in order to win 1 Euro.

The premise behind the web page was that it was a 50 - 50 chance and stated it a few times. What it didn’t mention was that there is one extra slot on the roulette wheel which alters the odds in favour of the casino. When the ball falls into that slot neither black of red wins and the money goes to the Casino. The odds don’t change that much, but sufficiently for the laws of probability to guarantee a profit for the casino.

So be careful with the casinos and even if you are give a bonus of 100% on what you deposit, you might have to put in a large mount to be able to cover the amount you would have to put in to cover the losses.

By the way there was a link on the web page to be able to sign up with a casino or two, which is why the web page was there. I followed the link and proved my point by playing it in test mode and saw that yes it is possble to have enough losses in a row to have to place a LARGE sum on order to win 1 Euro. I got it up to 1024 Euro placed.

Good luck to you all

BinarySoft bites the dust

My favourite betting software, because it is good and also because it works native on my Mac is biting the dust. Maybe they could get enough people the go with the binary way of working on Betfair which I actually really liked once I got used to it.

I remember how I felt when I first used it and it was a bit scary because there was no learning mode and you had to use cash at risk to find out how it worked. Didn’t have to be large amounts of cash, it could be quite small but I can imagine how it would be to have a person adopt that way of working. Not too good for the sales.

I think that the guy doing it did a great job with the programming of it and he kept on adding new excellent useful features. Perhaps he should have spent more time marketing it by producing videos showing how easy it is to use, and explaining better the benefits.

Trading on the Ajax vs Heerenveen game

I have this game here Ajax are winning 3-1 at 75 minutes and I have laid the draw at Betfair and Backed the draw at Lasseters, the new online Aussie bookmaker.

I also have a trade on the Boulogne vs Grenoble game and Grenoble are one up, would be great if they could go another one up to but a bigger cushion between the draw.

Earlier I had a back bet at Lasseters odds of 7.00 on the game ending 0-2 in favour of Chelsea, So I have a pile of cash in Lasseters to sort out.

Saturday Football Trading

I will be able to look at the Man United game vs West Ham at lunchtime. I won;t be home for the other games on today - shame though. No chance of me getting time off during the weekends, seeing as I am working in the tourism industry.

The game will be won by Manchester United probably - they need to win to be sure of the title. West Ham are not too good away from home either.

As usual I will be looking to see what the odds are on the under 2.5 goals market.

I have not forgotten about my trial of the correct score dutching but I have not had time for it with working on the matched betting. I still think it is a good strategy but would need a decent size bank to work with, in  case there were a few sessions with a loss.

Twitter Updates for 2008-05-01

  • I am doing some trading on the rangers game under 2.5 goals using BinarySoft BDI betting software - the odds are moving quickly #
  • And in the right direction too. #
  • End of the first half and no goals - I traded out of the unders at about 25 minutes so I could go and sit and watch the game on TV #
  • penalties in Fiorentina - who’d a thought ????
Could go either way now #
  • OK - two weeks to wait for the final - at least I think they said it was 2 weeks away - two weeks to wait for my profit #

Rangers against Fiorentina

Would be nice for Rangers to lose - Well me me anyway. I don’t suppose Ally McCoist will be too pleased though, not Walter Smith either.

I will still make 45 euro on the competition because I have the free 65 euro laid off. I am not sure I want to wait a month to get my hands on it. If Fiorentina get a goal I will be tempted to look at the odds and see if I will make enough to be able to trade out early.

If I did that and Rangers made a late come back in the game and then went on to win the competition I could be quids in on both sides of the position I have right now.

I traded on the under 2.5 goals on the game and traded out at about 25 minutes so that I could take my place on the sofa to watch the game.

Moscow beckons to English clubs for the Champions League Final

Chelsea battled hard against Liverpool in the semi final and took there luck  to get to the final. I would have liked to have seen the game on the TV but no joy here. I didn’t even get to trade on the game as I was late getting to look at the game in BinarySoft BDI. The match was already 25 minutes old and the odds would not have given value.

Good job I didn’t try it on Betfair, seeing as there was a goal at 33 minutes and that would have caught me out in my favoured under 2.5 goals market.

Don’t forget that BetAngel is a professional type betting software that does everything apart from make the tea. Excellent if you want to be the bookmaker of link up with an excel spreadsheet. I wish there was a Mac version….

Great for English football to see two English clubs in the Champions League final
