Like I said before this business is about the long term. Yesterday was an example of that I finished the day about 47 euro down. This was due to to the horses. Early on in the day I had a race go against me and one of my donkies won the race. I tried to trade out but it was too late and the bet didn’t get matched. That left me down by 60, then I thought I would try the reverse dutchman coupon in STW and I laid 3 horses with it. Max liability was 20. The idea was to trade out on one of the horses if one looked like it was going to win. Trouble was that it was a close finish and I didn’t get the chance to trade out so down another 20. I was talking to the owner of the STW software yesterday and he assures me that it is a good technique to use, although he was describing it with only 2 horses.

Later in the day on the last race I was slow to get the lay bet on my prefered horse and it didn’t get matched, but I did get the backing bet on the winner and had a profit of a huge 15 cents. – So that was the horses…….

I finished the day with trades on the West Brom vs Luton game and I was totally successful with it. I put 99 on the lay side of the over 2.5 goals at odds of 1.84 and I laid off as the game progressed. First 15 euro at 1.86, then 19 euro at 1.89, another 19 at 1.93, 19 euro at 1.99, 15 euro at 2.12 and that left me greened up. The profit on the game in the end was 5.91 euro. Thanks Ray for showing me that gradual laying off technique where you reduce the liability as the game progresses.

It is not all bad anyway as I have just looked at the stats on Betfair and my profit for the last 7 days is still 78.92 euro. Not a huge amount but remember I am only using smallish stakes which fit in with not having too big a liability compared to the size of the betting bank. It is a healthy 11.53% increase in the betting bank for the week.
